Kamilla Mamatova is a fourth year student majoring in Economics at the Nazarbayev University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. In March 2017 Ms. Mamatova was elected as a President of NU Student Government. Student Government at NU is a supreme body of student self-governance system, which acts as a bridge between students and university administration, solves students’ issues and promotes leadership.
Before becoming a SG President, Kamilla Mamatova was a part of Student Council of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (2014), Minister of Education and Research at SG (2016), voting member of Academic Quality Committee (2016), executive board member of NU Case Club (2016) and an active member of Debate Club Nomad. She also worked as an intern in Kazakhstani largest diversified energy holding company, Samruk Energy.
Miss Mamatova was awarded Competent Communication Certificate from Toastmasters International in June 2016. In addition to this, she was a finalist and a winner of the city and republican level debate championships, such as Two Legends Cup 2015, Kultegin 2016, NU Debate Academy 2015. In December 2016, she represented Nazarbayev University as an adjudicator at the Worlds Universities Debating Championship, Hague. Moreover, Kamilla Mamatova became a second place winner of the Changellenge Cup Kazakhstan 2017 case competition.
In April 2017, Ms. Mamatova became a Konrad Adenauer Foundation scholar.
