Maulen Akhmetov

Student, Nazarbayev University, Founder of Kunde Social cafe

Maulen Akhmetov is a third-year student majoring in World Literature, Languages and Culture at Nazarbayev University’s School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Maulen volunteered in and organized community service projects ranging from fundraising events to food drives and education programs. During the Future Leaders Exchange program in the U.S., he volunteered in Habitat for Humanity, Kids Education Foundation, Key Club, holds a volunteer with distinction diploma from the U.S. Department of State. Vice-president of NU Red Crescent and Red Cross Society. Founder of a social cafe “Kunde”, a rehabilitation program, which provides training and employment for people with developmental and learning disabilities.
“Kunde social cafe” project was awarded as the best socially-oriented project by the British Council, Chevron, and PricewaterhouseCoopers companies. It received funding and awards from the Sabi Foundation, the U.S. Embassy small grants program, Astana Business Campus Acceleration program, UNDP Crowdfunding Academy.
